hill hold braking system

i am thinking about fitting a subaru hill hold control braking system on to my syncro
has anybody tried it??

basically when you are at a standstill with the brake pedal and the clutch depressed you can lift off on the brakes without it releasing, it only releases when you lift off on the clutch, almost like a 4 wheel automatic handbrake and it free`s up your right foot to get on the revs

not so much of a problem with hillstarts just got it all on the shelf in the garage and thought i would try and over complicate an already massive and daunting syncro rebuild project

I have a hill holder system on my Freelander 2 and I cant see any advantage of using it but then I know how to start and stop on a hill.

Its a gizmo designed for yummie mummies who can push buttons ... you know, like the ones on a washing machine and other large boxes that take up valuable parts storage space ....

no pushing buttons this is an old pre button pushing system that just engages itself everytime you stop on a hill
you can`t turn it on or off its just there
curiosity has taken over and i am now forced to attempt to fit it
cant see any down side if i can get it to work

This Hill starting thing is a drill, practice! There is no electronic mechanical device that will compensate having to stop on a hill.
The only thing that may aide for a slight delay in hill start procedure is a rear disc conversion.

If the goal is to over complicate the rebiuld, go for it...

I have a Scoob that has that feature.. yes its handy in certain instances.. but I generally never use it.. it also can interfere with reversing on a slope (doesnt have to be much of a slope either) some times.. thats when I notice/remember its there.. I never sit at junctions/traffic lights on the clutch so thats prob why I never use it.. soon as you lift your foot off the clutch pedal, wether in or out of gear,the brakes come off..

less to go wrong the better, especially if your going to be useing it off road or on extended trips.

more work less value.

might be nice feature on nice road going 2wd but on a syncro ???????????
