Mk 2 Golf Gti Twin Headlamp Grill. T25 usable?

Post by thebobster »

Those in the know probably think this is a daft question and shoot me down in flames, but here goes.

Can the twin headlight model front grill from a Mk 2 Golf Gti be coaxed into fitting a T25 /T3 after the style of the S.A. one? The reason I ask is that Eurowagens have got some Golf ones on sale on the bay of fleas (Item No. 250899195817) for £18:50 (+£8 p+p) which is a good bit cheaper than the genuine S.A. grille.

Sod's law will ensure that it can't be a straight replacement, obviously, but I was wondering if anybody had successfully tried this before, or if there are insurmountable problems, or even if it works, it's still "pooh".

Your thoughts please. :?

I have one. You wil need to substantially butcher it and butcher your original grill. Not worth the effort to make it look good in my opinion, So i decided against it.
