Re: Collapse of the euro?
It's still not quite dead but it looks like the UK is now isolated.
Good thing or bad thing - we must wait and see.

Re: Collapse of the euro?
Isolated from what?
A solution?
The Euro in its present form is dead. Don't get me wrong I like the idea of a common currency, but you have to have common economies to go with it!
Having Greece, Portugal, Ireland tied to the likes of Germany, is doomed from the outset. And will carry on being doomed! IMO.
Personally, I like the idea of a union between say, Britain, Germany, France & say Holland! What a Great market that would be!!!
This silly idea of trying to make London Stock Market unviable on the World scene is just a silly side show born out of jealousy. And DC had no choice but to deny it.

Re: Collapse of the euro?
The good old Euro is far from dead. The countries linked together by it will change and possibly four countries will be shed from it - Ireland will not be one of them. The Euro crisis is taking centre stage from the real EU zone issues of which GB is part of and if you think Italy and Greece are in trouble, just wait until the Sterling bubble bursts! Sweden, Finland, Holland, France and Germany are the only EU zone countries that are still officially not in trouble! Being a US puppet has cost Britian dearly.

Re: Collapse of the euro?
Again I agree. massive, short-sighted mistakes were made with our economy. But comparing us to Greece is just plain silly.
As I said, IMO, The present Euro/Eurozone is doomed, You're right though, Ireland may hang in there as a face saving stunt, it is probably small enough to tolerate. But i wouldn't bet my money on it!
I wonder how many German's wish they could be isolated from the Eurozone???

I'm going to Berlin for a few Gluhweins tomorrow. I haven't changed any money yet, so lets see what they give me a Stanstead in the morning: Euros or DMs!
