anyone who knows about gear sticks on various vans ??

Post by weldore »

oldiguanna has some bits for a 5 speed gear lever set up advertised in for sale

here..https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=95477" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

ok..with my setup i have to push the stick down and across to get 1st and reverse but my cage is different to the one iggy has up for grabs.the linkage looks the same its just the box/cage thingummyjig that it all goes into thats diffrent.

so..im thinking i have the 5 speed setup with a 4 speed cage ..i think :?

could someone confirm that he has a 5 speed diesel box wotsit in his ad ?

cheers..dave

4 speed lever and front rod (little fork on end), 5-speed box with those wedges in the bottom (could be petrol or diesel, derv is taller and I think with "open" front and back, which would make that one petrol), cup on rod could be either petrol or diesel too - you have to measure the height. from centre of rod. Hope this helps.

yes i was wondering about the linkage off the gearstick to the rear of the van..as i recall mine is just a yoke with a bolt through it and the lower part of the gearstick on iggy's looks the same as mine.
ill have to get down and dirty this weekend me thinks.

quite a bit different and mucky too!!
would you say its a 4 speed box thing with a 5 speed shift rod?
and would any of oldiguanna's bits make mine behave as it should or could i alter it to make 1st drop in without having to push down but still do that for reverse ???

cheers in advance .dave
