Syncro Trips 2011/2012

Post by jed the spread »

So now the year is coming to a close soon and the new year starting, whats everyone up to?

For me personally and the majority of people I know with a Syncro they bought them for travel and an investment in their families memories from awesome things and places they have been in them as well as couples developing their relationships and life skills together and single people who have been bitten with this go anywhere attitude outside the everyday life the T3/25 Syncro gives you.

I have been getting regular text messages from V-lux (Al) who has just been following a route we took this summer and has just entered Slovenia today after a totally extreme single track crossing into this fine country from Italy, and will be heading down to Croatia and beyond and is away until well into the new year (lucky sod). It got me thinking what and where we are going to head to next.

Whats everyones plans for the coming year, anything interesting?

Would love to list a load of exotic countries that we will be visiting, but due to a family holiday in Toronto and Nova Scotia I think we will be limited to Wales and Scotland. (which are both lovely places anyway ) although I suppose it will work out just as cheap to visit France. Will also have lots of weekends away, some with people on here and some with me laughing at other friends in tents! But I'm getting quite into this wild camping malarkey, and having the syncro really helps with that.
The syncro has really opened up a whole other world for us, and 2013 I would like to drive up through Norway, Finland ect. And the year after maybe down to Greece.

With so little time I spend at home, getting some events in would be nice.....

Well, if we still have the place in France, then we could have a gathering there....... use it as a stopover or something.. Might even be able to arrange a bit of laning...

I hope I can make one of the french syncro trips this year.. always a great experience.... and apart from a couple of the UK ones, all I can expect to do... :(

Most of our (I mean my 4 weeks) will be spent at the french place..

Definately would like to go to France this year and hook up with Jean Claude and all the French syncronauts who came over to see us at Eire Syncro. What about a scottish event this year? Would love to do a trip up there. Surely all you boys up North could organise something? Can share our experience and advise if needed. That rally looks cool :ok Have to wait till after the budget and what's going on with the euro before real plans are made  But at the sometime if we can suggest dates that suit the French would have some notice to organise something and I can start looking a booking ferries while they are cheap :ok

Funny that this thread should come up today as we were just talking about 2012 and where we should go. Assuming the Syncro has not been sold, we were thinking of Mammutpark in April and heading down into Eastern Europe afterwards, Syncropendence in July and then head down to the South of France in the S class in September to stock up the cellar.

If the Syncro sells then its time to start the bodywork on the other one !!

Like Paul says, it all depends on the budget planned for the next few weeks and if the Euro is still a currency.

I would happily carry spanners or provide catering, but I doubt my mundane 9-5 job would let me out to play :(

I will be coming to Syncropendance this year (already agreed it with the wife) followed by a trip through Wales.

Would happily help sort out a trip in Scotland but it would be a tour rather than an off road adventure. No lanes in Scotland. :(

If anyone is interested in a sumer jaunt to the Islands I could arrange something there.

Maybe cruise up to the Red Squirrel Campsite near Glen Coe then out to the Kyle of Lochalsh and Skye then jump the ferry to Harris and Lewis.
Cheers
Rob.
