Camskills are a great outfit to deal with and cheap!
At the risk of opening another "diff ratio vs. performance vs. vehicle weight" discussion
you should be just fine at that size Phil, my DG on 4.86's goes alright on or off road, but no Westy payload to slow it down! OK so it won't get to 70 on the flat anymore but you can't have everything...they also clear the sliding door at ET30

Re: Just bought my BFG's
I like a steady 55 mph now, anymore than that and it drinks fuel.
I'm looking forward to llangollen to try it all out. I just want these blinking diffs working.

When I drove Robs van up to Scotland when it as a Petrol it used a frightening amount of fuel. It used a tank and a half compared to the just under a tank it used on the way back. I know its down hill all the way back and to be fair the old engine ran sweet but by hell was it thirsty at 60mph+

Any 20-year old/100k+ miles engine can benefit from a rebuild
I was speaking to the owner of a JX'd Westy, that's just had an engine rebuild and the old bus now returns a solid 39 mpg on a run at a sensible 55. Bit of an originality buff, not a speed freak at his age so no gearbox mods or anything. He's not a bull###er, keeps long-term mileage records in a book with an elastic band around it and everything!
