Cleaning the tin top...

Post by StuM »

Hi All,

After a couple of months parked under next door's oak tree, our van roof is covered in green/black gunk. Anyone got any tips on how I can get this off?

Much appreciated.

Thanks,
Stu

I'd try a drop of TFR on it [traffic film remover] It's sold in most motor factors. Make sure you dilute it correctly as is CAUSTIC and WILL mark plastics if used when too strong a mix. Wear some plastic gloves when handling it, dont get in your eyes, etc etc.

It's about 15 quid for 5 litres.

Its used a lot for cleaning curtain sider trucks and the like. :ok

Commercial steam cleaner shifts the lot and to be honest a jet wash is the kind of thing needed to shift and rinse it all. I recently used a truck washer on mine (steam) and it was the cleanest it had ever been. :D
