Headlamps, NO full beam!

Post by handsoff666 »

I have the square twin headlamp set up and now cant get full beam. I have side lights and then dipped beam but for some reason when I put on the full beam I loose all my lights. Ie, Nothing works! I have seen various comments on the forum but all different. Is this problem known? Is it the light switch, steering stalk, bad earth or something new! Before getting the multimeter out and following all the wires back to source I wondered if anyone could help.
Cheers :D

Yep. I have checked all the fuses. Whilst having another look today I realise that I can get them to flash but not stay on. Sorry I cant, it was the fog lamps flashing!! See comment below.

check the earth crowns behind the fuse box.

dont just look at them , pull each and every wire off , remove the earth crown , clean all connections and refit making sure the terminals are all nice and tight.!

My lights were dodgy last week. Only one side light and one main beam, on different sides. Full beams worked ok. Bulbs were ok. The connectors at the back of the headlights were rusty. A clean up and a bit of a squeeze for a tighter fit and everything worked.
