First Run for Panel Van. The Bomb Hole, Strata Florida

Post by Peninsulakid »

Went out with Lee yesterday and some really nice folks from BORG.

Had a great day on Strata Florida and off road in the Elan Valley

Will do another vid but here's a little taster. First run out in the panel van which purred all day, only damage 1 bumper end cap, and a probable clip around my lughole when the boss sees the dog fall off the front seat!!

Brxilliant, glad you made it with thre ramps. Have you lowered your Syncro? Looks much lower than mine, and Im sure mine would not of caused that bumper end cap damage, or needed those ramps.

All good fun though mate, I love watching Syncros pushed! :ok

Its not the petrol one, that is still yellow.

I thought perhaps that a man of your esteem and syncro knowledge would recognise the purr of an AAZ!!

Sorry about upsetting you though.

Didn't realise you cared about my dog so much. If it helps she didn't hurt herself!!!!

Depends how much furniture you're dragging up the hill I suppose

I thought that diesels were supposed to be good off road and not need a load of revving? Low speed torque and all that :run

Could this be turning into another petrol versus diesel thread?

Got a shout for an engine out of an Octavia VRS. 20 valve 1.8 turbo 180BHP. Engine code AUQ. Was doing about 40mpg in the car before it was written off.

Wondering what all you learned folks would think about putting it in a 1.9DG syncro panel van, got the bell housing, diesel tank on the way. Well pleased with the AFN in camper but haven't got another AFN and can get a cheap deal on the AUQ :?: :?: :?:

I thought that you were a well respected and top authority on all matters syncro. A PR consultant for VW Syncro's and a director of a well known website. If there was a place called Syncro City you would be the Mayor!!

Also a hardened diesel addict that would talk me out of anything to do with a petrol engine!

4 days involving an miss sold aaz, a gear box,a very very well done leg of lanb that ended in annother pub dinner.industrial unit in north Wales, the loss of vegan powers when i made a cup of tea with cow milk instead of soyia milk and a long drive. But every thing work out well in the end.
