Re: dash lights not working
two bulbs on top of binnacle, one behind digital clock if you have it and one behind the heater knob panel and one in the difflock switch panel, all are on lightblue/blue wire from the switch and are split in various places in the loom, chances are someone has cut something or there's an open circuit somewhere, but normally if one bulb goes the others still work

Re: dash lights not working
thanks Aidan , will look into this - in the meantime (and as the van is now down Nicks 'yard') - i have the switch and loom that Neil sent in front of me- slightly different switch but there ia no light blue wire - there is however and grey with light blue wire coming from the pin from behind the dimmer wheel (9 pin L suffix switch) i mention this because i have a grey wire cut in the loom to the long thin plug lower left of steering column / indicator area see it here half way down page - im wondering if this cut wire could be related to no dash lights?

grey/blue it is, haven't got the manual to hand to check the colours, it's one of those when youve seen it a few times you know which one it is when it turns up in the loom
