Insulation

Post by zed »

in the process of working my way around the van reparing holes and rust from the inside. I am throwing away the fibreglass matting as I get to it. My question is, What is the best thing to replace it with? What is everyone using?

thanks

That thermo wrap stuff ( Aluminium coated bubblewrap) light weight and won't absorb water.

for somereason, that stuff is hard to find in Germany. I went with

K-FLEX Kautschuk 19 mm Endlosplatten Selbstklebend 10m²
K-FLEX Rubber 19mm Roll self adhesive

http://www.1a-daemmstoffe.de/19mm-FIROF ... bend-8m/KT

which is a tad more expensive.

I put if in all side walls and over the engine bay (on the lid too), as I found on a recent trip, at the end of April, the cold metal was cooling the matress.
