Of course it depends on the 'context'....what you are expecting them to do.
If you are under the impression that they will put some useful 'charge' in the batteries whilst camping, then that is a joke!
If on the other hand you have one of these to keep the cells active and prevent them from sulphating whilst the van is 'laid up' then they are extremely useful.
One of the 'big threats' to leisure batteries or any other battery for that matter, is the cold and being left in a discharged inactive state. These little panels provide just enough power to keep things active and in my opinion, definately enhance battery life.
Joke...well yes as a serious charger.
Very useful...to prolong the batteries life, especially over those long inactive and cold winter periods.

ive checked it again today after some bright weather and it has gone to 12.9v from 12.6 so its doing a little bit of good! so im happy!!!

I've got one connected to my campers battery and it just about puts the same power into the battery as the alarm and clock take out.
