top ball joint bolts
wonder if someone could give me a bit of advice please ? im buying a set of lowering springs and shocks from brickwerks when i looked at the front suspension i noticed one of the 8mm allen key bolts has rounded whats the best way to get this out and will i have to replace the top balljoint ? thanks jeff

Well, try with an allen key first, knock it ALL the way in and keep it square. If that fails then knock it around with a cold chisel..the ball joint should be just fine.

Get an M8 12-spline tool (preferably one that has a removable 1/2" drive) and belt it hard into the rounded off hex with a #2 copper hammer before applying torque. You won't hurt it, the shock helps to free the frozen threads and the tool will live to do plenty more.

clean the threads what protrude through the top arm and balljoint of rust and grease them then when your undoing bolt its less chance of shearing of
