Car body/ stichwelder for arc welder?

Has anybody ever used one of these with an arc welder? do they work or how are they meant to work?

Cant say i have used one or seen one used, but there was a thred not long ago that included a discussion about using arc welders etc for bodywork. Generally its not the done thing, mig/tig or gas is generally accepted. Arc is quite difficult to control on thin metal. But again as i said it might work with that it might not. Just a thought.
