I'm on about the the exterior fridge metal thingy with Electrolux stamped on it (not the plastic vent)
I'm tempted to paint it to tidy it up a bit - someone's had a go in the past then stripped it again by the looks of it
I notice that these things are never painted when 'original' which leads me to beleive there's a reason for keeping them in bare alloy
Not sure what this thing does and it doesn't even get a mention in the instruction manual - so can anyone enlighten me as to tit's function and whether or not it should be painted please?

Re: Painting the exterior electrolux fridge thingy?
It's the fridge gas exhaust flue cover. Where the combustion products from the fridge gas burner exit the van. It gets a bit warm during fridge operation but not 'hot' as such. I've painted mine satin black - just gave it a bit of a rub down with some wet & dry paper to key the surface and sprayed it with a can.

Engine enamel - heat resistant, no primer needed, matt black = right colour, had some in the garage anyway
