just wondering how vw got there power and torque figures, as i had the van on a rolling road to have a proper tune up as i fitted a new twin choke carb and it needed properly setting up (jeting etc)
the van performed quite well getting
115bhp at the fly wheel @5200rpm which is 93bhp at the wheels
148ft/lb at peak torque @2900rpm at the wheels
so it makes me question if the car companies when they give bhp and ft/lb at the fly wheel or the at the wheels. it is obvious that a bigger figure looks more impressive from a sales picture
i have had a quick look around and i cant find and torque figures for any of the wbx engines, dose any one know the figures?
neil
bhp figures etc

Re: bhp figures etc
they usually do it from the fly wheel. looks better but not real bhp in my opinion.

Re: bhp figures etc
aye - they also do weights with 'dry capacity' also which does my nut in!
It is by will alone that I set my 'van' in motion!
