sliding door sill/runner repairs

sliding door sill/runner repairs

Hi i was wondering if anyone has tackled this as my runner inside is becoming quite rusty and has a few holes in how easy is it to replace and can i get a new part from anywhere. Cheers

Hi there. It is quite a tricky repair to make. My advice is to use plenty of weld through primer. Tack everything or use self tappers to hold things in place. Then try the sliding door. Keep trying everything in place until you get a good fit.
Parts are available from a number of places Alan Schoffield or VW heritage are best for body panels IMHO

Not the easiest place to repair.
But it can be done and the repair panels are fairly cheap for this area.
How bad is it?
