Worryingly odd

Hi, my T25 has developed an odd grinding/crunching sound which is very random, and seems to be coming from the front when i put it into gear
The odd thing is,It dosent happen all the time!

Any idea what it could be? pleeeeease dont tell me the clutch is on the way out

Try to be more specific as remote diagnosis is difficult as you can imagine... front or back?
going into gear?

into gear may be a few things... first ....you might want to check your fluid levels, which I'm sure you did, but didn't say.

4 speed or 5 speed ?
recent oil change on gearbox ?
where's the bite point of the clutch, how much free movement in clutch pedal ?

Its a 4 speed gearbox.
Would it be something loose near the front as thats where the noise is coming from, but its definitely something clutch related as it only happens when i use the clutch.
