Re: Germany Advice
You need:
A warning triangle
A recognised first aid kit
A set of spare bulbs
Tyres to suit the condition (i.e. Winter tyres in winter).
I would recommend carrying the log book and insurance details.
Also a spare set of specs if you wear them.
Smaller/older campsites can still have the old round 2 pin plug but most have the 3 pin blue plug and are rated at 16amp.
Pre-booking - if you know where you are going and it's at peak time then pre-book.

Re: Germany Advice
Hi thanks very much for that. We are planning to catch the ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam then head for Berlin for the show at the end of July then head for Wolfsburg.
Re: Germany Advice
What's the situation with gas? e.g. If you're currently using Calor?

Theres a campsite in wolfsburg near the factory works and the autostrat but its a bit rough and they lock the campsite toilets up at night, or did last time we went in 2006.donnieg wrote:Hi thanks very much for that. If you are going to The Black Forest I know a place you can stay for 6 Euro per van per night inc electric hook up

Re: Germany Advice
Enjoy the trip.
Weve just done something very similar, same ferry then we headed to Hamburg before Berlin, then wolfsburg and further south.
Its a lovely drive and Berlin was alot better than we'd expected. I'm glad I saw wolfsburg but i wouldnt go back, the science centre part at the enterance is amazing but full of staff standing around in suits with the 'dont touch that' kind of expression.
Tip. avoid Sunnyside camping in berlin, its a dump of a place.
Once i get around to it, ill write up a trip log here.

but just now its just the planning stuff but might be helpfull.

Re: Germany Advice
The smaller and longer running vw museum in wolfsburg is much better than the autostrat you can get a birth certificate for your van there if you want.
