Hi has anyone replaced this. The rubber bit at the back has split and i need to replace so as i do not get any water or dirt getting into the tank. however i have removed the cap and the metal ring but cannot seem to get the dam thing to budge so as to remove the old rubber at the rear and replace it with a new part, any ideas, not sure if there are lugs holding the thing in or do i just use brute force and ignorance to get the bugger out.
I did mine a few months ago. Can't quite remember but have a good look round the back for rusted screws. I'd shove a rag down the filler hose though to stop crud falling down there.
Oh, and I don't recall anything holding the neck to the hose other than a rusted hose clip in my case. I think it's just push fit so should pull out with some twisting.

big jubilee's off and twist it and let it push into the tank to give more room. definate rag down the neck spray some wd round where it enters the tank.

Thanks for help guys, but how does the part thats attatched to the bodywork remove, this is the part that wont budge, have tried a screwdriver under it and tried to lever it off but no joy, just wondering if there are tabs behind this part locking it into the body. a lot of cursing been going on here, but i dont want to bugger up the panel that it goes through. Any ideas.
Ah, you'll be lucky to get that off with the filler neck still in the way, they rotate about a 1/4" and then come away, but after years of crud, and often sealnt and such they dont move, . when I strip vans for painting I usallt disconnect the neck and cut the shroud of and replace with new...
you dont need to remove this shroud if your only after changing the filler neck/rubber
