Are schofield. Windscreen seals any good or should I just go for Vw anyoone have any experience of schofield ones?

VW Emporium do originals and at good price. Got mine there and they do type with insert if required. Fitted perfectly.

I also used Chris at VW Emporium and his OE ones fit perfectly, used a tiny bit of rubber grease and a thick cord to get it in, did it myself with a few careful pushes with palm and took about ten minutes all in. Thats after half the day welding up the steel screen surround! Good luck.

My status-vw seal fits like a glove on the tailgate. Got it 3 years ago and they claim they are genuine OEM.....or should I say OEM as VW don't sell them anymore

Hi, can some one please let me know the difference between with trim or not, repalacing seals on mine in next couple of weeks, it is slowley driving me mad!! as there seems to be quite a difference in price, do i need them, does mine already have em? the trim that is. cheers... oh i have a Autohomes Komet from 87.

The one for 'windscreen with moulings' means the chrome trim that was found on caravelles.

Ok, so for mine i just need regular, trim free seals which fortunately are cheaper.

They certainly are. I guess for my Caravelle I could have gone for plain but as I wasn't sure exactly how long the supply of ones with inserts will last, I opted to replace like with like. Besides, hopefully it'll be the last time I need to do it so the expense justified fitting good ones rather than JK poo ones. That philosophy doesn't always apply with replacement parts but it sure does with the windscreen. Whether they have inserts or not, always buy from a good source and not only are they easier to fit, they look right too. I added black roofing mastic under the lip to ensure a watertight seal (excess cleaned off with white spirit) and hopefully reduce the chance of a repeat of corner rot.
