Photos of low oil pressure sensor in situ please

I'm looking at replacing this oil pressure sensor on my 1.9DG petrol engine, and would appreciate anyone pointing me to any guides/videos/how2's, especially photos so I can see what Im facing before actually getting underneath.

I'm unaware of the colour sensor I have fitted, but believe its the yellow wire model, and after reading the wiki, the natural upgrade for the idiot oil light syndrome is the .25bar one, linked below....

Would this blue one be ok to fit, or do I really need to replace colour removed?

PS, just watched a detailed video on youtube, but half an hour in the guy didn't cover the low pressure oil sensor, although he said he changed it, but no info or help with regards doing so.

PPS Im also aware I only have the one oil pressure sensor, the low pressure one as I have the 1.9 DG engine, so no tricky secondary sensor near the power steering pulley.

the second sensor is not too much of a pain to change, i found the that easyest way to change it was to remove the exhaust silencer then you can get to it with ease. but you will been a long reach socket (cant remeber the size) to remove it and re install it,

Thanks, the wiki says a 24mm deep socket.

I can see how to remove the exhaust tinware, but the head cover, is this just held in place with that thin metal retaining bar, or are there any bolts to remove too?

Thats the thing, Im still quite new to this kind of thing Kev, so wasn't sure if the sensor was under that cover, or simply behind the exhaust shield?

I think you mean the push rod tube shield don't you?

has the rocker covers (black) and pushrod shield (silver) directly below it
the pushrod shield is what you must remove

if it is the push rod covers that need to be removed then the 2 lower exhaust nuts need to be removed along with a pair of 13mm bolts on the case to remove them.

when i had my 2.1wbx i ran hose from this the top side of the engine and installed a oil pressure sender, and a new lps as i used the other oil pressure switch location (between the pullys) as for an oil temp sender

pushrod cover and the hose i was talking about


re located oil pressure sender with a 1bar warning warning and a .25 bar switch in the t peice. so that i had an oil pressure gauge and the correct buzzer of doom still worked as it should

Ah that makes things perfectly clear now, for some reason I was under the impression the sensor was under the rocker cover.

So all I need to do then is remove the exhaust shield (Pushrod cover), then I will be able to access the switch.

Thanks for the photos guys, that helps me a lot. Just hope I can get all those retaining bolds undone, as they look like originals.

Got the replacement sensor the other day from Brickwerks, was about to change it today but the heavens opened up, bloody typical.
