If you looked in the boot you would also see something rather un-factory :D

lol i nearly woke the cat laughing at the a-team reference and i don't even have a cat!

lol @ puch maxi, the round speedo i take it?

stick an egg timer on the top of the dash and you can have a kitchen in the speedo, i was thinking more heinz logo or r whites lemonade than a-team. (food and drink on the brain!)

If you look at photo 1 above, it is a clear illustration of why the stock dash never was much cop. Its a complete dirt trap and I've had a few times when the only way I've been able to clean it properly was to strip clocks/electrics from back and dunk the whole thing in suds. It really is a terrible design and should have had a complete perspex cover across the front to seal it.

That said, I'm determined to have a go at fitting the polo genesis clocks now.

Image

The difficulty for anyone who has observed this is the dash pod is curved at the top and straight at the bottom but I think its possible to set the clocks back a fraction and still clear the master cylinder behind. The genesis clocks whilst analogue are relatively slim and have the rev counter and water/oil temperature. The speedo is a little over ambitious and would need calibrating but the module is roughly in keeping with the period whilst offering all the bits needed.

The other way I know of although more involved is the Passat TDI semi-digital conversion:

Clearly master cylinder poses some problems. How it was done: http://members.shaw.ca/McTavishPac/cluster/cluster.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
