Re: Top Speed?
3 years ago we sat at 85mph (on the satnav, recon 2.1DJ running lpg through a DG carb) for an hour down through France behind Disco & Kate in their chipped 2.5tdi ex-AA bananabus, Dave then said he'd better get on and shot off in a cloud of diesel smoke
The engine was more comfortable doing it than I was, we usually sit at a registered 70 ... which is 63 on the satnav.

1.9DG with 182k km on the clock, and I have never tried to go fast in it, but find I can cruise comfortably at 100kmph.

1.9 DG High Top Auto. It wil cruise comfortably at an indicated 70mph untill it hits big hills or high winds and I have seen 80mph when overtaking, but it dont half drink juice at these speeds

Re: Top Speed?
Off the end of the speedo , just put foot down and off it goes , limited by gearing.
Whats more fun though is the effortless acceleration. Stuck behind lorries on A roads ? not any more.

Re: Top Speed?
Mine can do 90/95 MPH indicated, checked with satnav and it can do 87!!!
Is a very scarey ride and the fuel consumption is very bad. I generally cruise at 60/65.

Re: Top Speed?
60-65mph. Any more than that the engine sounds like it's screaming to escape. I've been a passenger at 115mph in a T3 panel van, Cosworth V6 engine fitted. A bit hair raising.

Re: Top Speed?
