Re: 12 V to 24V
If it was that easy we would all be doing it, and diesel ebers use way more than 1amp, especially at startup. It can and has been done.

Re: 12 V to 24V
You did search before posting? You have read the posts? You won't find a 12v to 24v inverter - you need a step up converter.
I run 24v ones in two vans and a boat on 12v.
Easy - don't know why you all stick with your overpriced 12v Eberspachers. 24v Webasto airtop 2000s are dirt cheap.

Re: 12 V to 24V
To be fair, the search feature on here is absolutely crap. I've used it many times but can very rarely find what I'm looking for.
The thread on running 24v ebers is very useful. Can we put it in the Wiki?

I did an article on how to use remote control for your timers for the wiki but it wasn't put in some reason, so haven't bothered with doing anything else.

Doesn't the link 'converter 12/24v here' give an indication?

Re: 12 V to 24V
You would fry that straight away! It is only 3A. You will need around 10A.
If you want to buy one from the UK you will have to pay between £100 - £200 for something that will cover what the 'chinese junk' will do. You could possibly buy the same unit in the UK for 2 or 3 times what you will pay for exactly the same object.(They will have paid the shipping costs of say a thousand units + duty + vat + packing etc)
Victron is a UK supplier & manufacturer if you want to pay their prices but then just buy a 12v heater to start with if you are going to spend £150 on a power supply just for a heater.
Amperor is another uk (Scottish) supplier but they just sell what they import from the Far East at the 2 or 3 times markup.

I've ordered loads of stuff from china and never had any problems at all. You have to wait a few extra days for delivery but it can save you a fortune on buying the exact same item from a UK supplier.

Thats quite a good deal, and I'm considering getting one to run this cab heater...

Re: 12 V to 24V
Pulling 300w through a 250w converter just doesn't work! It will not work for long without overstressing the components.
Rethink time.

Re: 12 V to 24V
Bugger you are right, glad you noticed, saved me time, money and trouble. Guess I need to find a cab heater that will work hand in hand with the 12v to 24v converter then.
