Rear Demister Wiring

Hello again, I've tried looking through the wiki and have downloaded the electrical wiring diagram from here and I think I'm missing something. My campervan has a rear demister screen, the switch had been taken out and replaced with a flashing red led (I think a fake alarm for insurance purposes). I have the original switch and want to refit the demister. I have the wires running back to the dashboard and the led light but I can't find a wiring diagram to show what wire goes where.
Did VW call the demister something else hence why I can't find any information.
All help greatly appreciated, thanks.

If by chance anybody is taking their dashboard apart and have the demister switch fitted, could they take a photo and post up so at least I can start tracing the wires.

Hello,

don't know if this helps, but according to the diagrams, the pins on the switch should be labelled 1+, 58b, 31 and 86...

1+ is White/Green from fuse 14
86 is Black and goes through a couple of connectors to the rear windscreen, but the wire is always black (1.5mm gauge)
31 is earth for the indicator light - and is brown
58b is Grey/Blue and gets a signal from the light switch variable resistor

hope this helps a bit and you manage to find a switch.

Thanks that does help a great deal. I do have the demister switch, it was left in the glove box of the van.
