I bought mine from EBay. They were about 1200mm long and around £35.
Type 'waffle board' into EBay.

google (im not taking the pi$$ BTW) GRP grates or grating. The company that make it in the UK will supply direct. We bought a pallet load 5 or 6 yrs back and it was cheap as chips. Dont be swung into buying 50mm stuff , 38mm is more than adequate. IRRC we worked out my G wagon (2.8t
), vertically balanced (if you can picture it) on one wheel so all the weight was going thr a 6" sq contact area wouldnt snap 38mm

Those waffles cost serious money - but the smaller aperture that we use on sand washing plant do wear out and put the material out of spec. Let me see how many I can find - then its first to my house gets them! There is 4 in the back of my van, but thats still in the Gambia

shame we can't get any here then??
Re: grp grates for sand ladder's/ off road, board's
Bear in mind that GRP ladders are only really good for bridging ladders/use on firmer stuff. Use em on sand/soft stuff and although they might offer some purchase , obviously th grp grates have relatively little surfcae area so weight of your van will push them down more than a solid ladder.
As chap put link up for - Do you have an animal feeds or similar factory/plant near you? Off cuts from conveyor belts will do for sand.

aye, rubber chap.
O level physics - surface areas and all that.
go on ebay and search 'STABLE MATS' or trawl your local stable yards etc and ask for old ones - then cut em into strips.
Eggesford near you?

Re: grp grates for sand ladder's/ off road, board's
very generally you dont need it. IF the sand is that dry that you are sinking in it, then rubber against rubber (tyres/mat) you will have more than enough traction. If anything you have to becarefull you dont give it toomuch beans as the traction/friction of the tyres agiainst the ribber mat will be more than the mat against the sand so you could potentially just spin the mats and throw them out from under your van without actually moving that far!!
If the sand is that wet and your stuck turn the engine off, empty the glovebox and walk away
Punch holes in mats and para cord them to rear bumper when/if you use them otherwise you drive out of where your stuck , stop to retireve mats then sink again. Para cord them to cumper and once you have driven over them you just drag them behind you until its safe to stop-saves walking back to get em-esoecially if you have driven a fair bit to get to firmer soil/land.
what is the purpose of wanting all the bits if you dont mind me asking? just that we dont have much sand in this country that you cab drive on enough to get stuck
Also the bridging ladders? are you planning a trip or just want lots of shiney bolt on bits?
Did you see the link ? stable/agricultural matting is cheap as chips.

Re: grp grates for sand ladder's/ off road, board's
thank's for the help that stuff with all the holes does seem quite cheap it's like grp but rubber would you go for the flat sheet or the holed traction stuff?
i help the local surf club launch and retreave boat's from different beach's plus there is a fair bit down here you can get on to drive, it's the big quick tide's that i dont want to be caught out by ha ha.
plus i would use them for the snow and ice and mud when logging, would of also been good in portugal though !
