Am I missing something on my sliding door?

Yes and you can live without it cos next you will ask .... what courtesy light and what switch does it connect to
its the bit above it that is really important, it locates into a receptical in the B post, ...you have got a receptacle there havent you its shaped like the bit in my picky but obviously a female version, it locates the door and helps hold it in the closed position so to speak.

The securing bolt is obsolete but it's a oval head countersunk bolt M6x18
