Updating door cards

Post by Gregvet »

Few questions from a real newbie!

My door cards, particularly the front doors, are past it. The drivers side is pretty rotten, and on closer inspection there doesn't appear to be any plastic sheet behind, which I understand is what stops water getting through.

I am looking at getting some of these as they look smart and are already coved in vinyl so keeps the cost down:

Anybody used these and have any opinions on them?

Also, I cant see any info on the wiki about what to use to replace the plastic sheet from behind the panel. Can anyone give me some step by step instructions as to how it fits, where it attaches, etc? Do I just get hold of some plastic sheet and cut round the new door card. Or does it need to be slightly bigger? Any pointers greatfuly received!

Thanks guys
:ok

spend the time and fit em with proper clips and not self tappers as it looks "pooh". in my opinion of course. 8-9mm fir trees are the best. you can get em with oversized backs and cut em so you can twist em in the holes. best to get em fitted before upholstery though but it is possible with a bit of effort.
