Is this a rock and roll bed please?

Post by Merlin Cat »

Hello,

I have recently bought a T25 that has been stood for 5 years and has been full of rats! I am now trying to sort the inside out, then the motor, then the body work :D I know this is probably a bad order but its all i can do at the moment.

There are quite a few things I am afraid i will be asking advice on over time but first things first.....

do these photos look like a rock and roll bed, and if so, how do i drop it? At the moment i took the retaining bolts out to drop the back but that is not the proper way!

Any help appreciated

thanks :D

Difficult to tell from your photos but you normally lift the seat base up and pull forward on it. The base comes forward and the back drops. It looks as though it should be because you have the raised bit above the engine cover that completes the level base of the bed, it normally has a piece of foam on it too.

Check my thread about the very same, I thought I had a R&R Bed, but alas, I don't, so the hunt is on for one with the same trim as my front seats.

Thanks for the replies :D
I have a T4 with a rock and roll bed and that drops by lifting the seat base but this has a different frame. It looks as though the back cushion should lift and then drop from looking at the position of the bolts and the shape of the metal ´plate´, but I couldnt shift it. It does have a rear cushion with matching cover that makes a whole bed when the back of the bench is flat. Sorry photos where a bit pants, I initially took them just to show the inside generally. I shall take some showing fixings a bit better :D
