Turbo diesel
Does anyone know if a turbo unit can be fitted to a non turbo 1700cc diesel, and if so how easy is it.

Re: Turbo diesel
I would advise posting this in the technical section.

Re: Turbo diesel
Hello,
no you can't as far as I know as the 1.7 engine doesn't have oil squirters for cooling the pistons - you may be able to somehow fit them to it, but in my opinion it's not worth it as you can pick up an AEF or 1Y block, which is probably already fitted with them, for not that much. I have read that if the block is stamped TD then it is prepared for a turbo - i.e. it has the extra oil squirters, and if it is stamped D then it doesn't.
Hope that helps a bit.
