Around the world of course - although ex military vehicles are banned from entering some countries. MPG a bit off tho. How much cheaper is diesel in africa? Or say Mongolia ? I guess you could plot a route driven by fuel costs

Iran would be on your list then.........

Diesel 1p a litre.

Although you could probably afford to run a something even more interesting......

Petrol.....2p a litre!!

I had a friend with a expedition LR with twin 60 litre tanks (plus jerry's) who filled up everything when entering Iran for £1.50. Then filled up again before entering Pakistan.

2.5 and 2.7 air cooled inline 4 or late vans had turbo diesel i belive.

there was nearly a meet up with the pinz and 303 guys last year but it didn`t come about. i`d love to meet up with these guys think both those vans are pretty special.

There might just be one or two "resting" in the lot behind the old factory in Guildford, must be worth a look

I think they were abandoned, possibly R & D vehicles as they were getting overgrown with brambles the last time I was there (several years ago). One was a red 6x6 bus with windows I recall, but spares might be a tad dear if they are incomplete?
