Door card removal

Post by The Bishop »

I'm sure this has been covered but can't find it.

The bit I am stuck on is removal of the door lever. I think there is a screw hidden somewhere?

Could you advise me how to get this door lever (internal openner) off.

Thanks,

Have you removed the black pastic cover inside the lever surround? Use a small flat head screwdriver to pop it off and then it exposes a screw to remove the rest of the handle surround

Many thanks, easy when you know how!

I've been filing my doors with "silver bubble wrap" insulation and flashing.

Wow :D I don't know about insulation or road noise but they no longer close with a clang and a rattle, instead they close with a solid thump. To quote the advert, they sound like a VW !

:ok

How do you remove the window winder and large handle in order to be able to take the door card off completely?

err the winder you prise the plastic off from the large end(the bit that goes through the door card) and there is a posi head screw to remove, as for the large handle then there are plastic strips that infill at either end , again prise thes off and there are 2 screws under each end
invest in a haynes it makes life easier and quicker
