well my 1.9 dg is sounding like a time bomb really loud ticking

this video isnt of mine but sounds exactly the same any ideas

It's normal
You have hydraulic lifters and they leak down with lack of engine use mainly..... Other lesser contributing factors are poor oil quality, wrong oil grade and poor oil pressure

take it for a half hour drive and it will go quiet..

i did use the search and it brings up so much stuff and nothing of any use

ok it has been stationary for a while and will be for a few more months as trying to get it back on the road

I used the search and typed "loud tapping" and found quite a few useful posts
