There used to be a wholesale motor factors on Palin Street, Nottingham that would do very cheap for cash. Used them a lot when I lived over the road from them and I ran an old Landy. Don't know if they're still there, was a long time ago, but if you're in town it would be worth a look. Post code was NG7 5AG for my house over the road so you should find them from that if they still exist.

I just use a normal vehicle battery myself, I've been told there's no difference!

Mine seems to work ok, is that because it's connected to the one that was already there? If I where to buy yours could I replace both of mine? Does it fit under the seat?

The voltage in a leisure battery is the same as in a car battery, but the voltage in a truck battery may be higher, this is because trucks are bigger and need more voltage.

Don't know whether it will fit under your seat, it was fitted in a box in a motorhome originally, you could always lay it down on its side if its too tall?

if your theory is correct, why do I need a 9 volt battery in my tiny smoke alarm. I. Would like to know what facts you are basing your findings on, how qualified are you on this matter?

So if I use a smoke alarm battery and 2 AAs this would almost definitely fit under my seat!

A smoke alarm is smaller than a car so doesn't need a massive battery, same as your watch only has a1.5v battery because it is smaller than a smoke alarm or a truck.

Could 8 watch batteries run my van then?
Is this what is meant by a van running like clockwork?

In theory yes, but you should never mix different types of battery, or remove the batteries from a smoke alarm, it might save your life one day.
