finally got a new ECU for the eber, and its fitted.
fitted fine and it starts up lovely, but it get incredibly hot, the hot outlet on the eber, the air is that hot you cant leave your hand infront of it for long.
but aftr 5/6 mins the pump stops and the heater goes into its shutdown process.
The ECU that was in the heater was part number 22 5101 00 10 01
and the new one is 22 5101 00 10 05
Seller said it would fit a D2.
Any idea's what could be wrong?
Cheers
Chris

Re: Another Eberspacher D2 question
22 5101 00 10 05 is the currently listed part no for the 12v D2 - the 01 was most probably the first model.
Does it do it on the lowest heat setting also? If so you may be pumping too much fuel into it - have you played with the fuel quantity adjustment at all or used a pump from a larger heater? Is the air intake blocked (Dead socks, mice etc.)

Re: Another Eberspacher D2 question
Ahhh well thats a relief I had a horrible feeling the ECU was not going to be suitable.
The Fuelling has not changed, well I dont think it has since I installed the Eber. I'll try winding it back a touch though, and see if that help.
Pump is the orginal D2 unit. is the fuel adjustment the inner most nut, or outer most?
I'll double check the intake pipe for the firing chamber, pretty certain its not blocked though
The cool air intake in side the van definatly is not blocked

Re: Another Eberspacher D2 question
The adjustment is the 10mm nut. Screw in clockwise to restrict the flow.
It may just be due to the high temps that we are having at the moment (well this side of the country anyway
) We seem to be at 68/70F degrees most of the time so the air temp in the van will be considerably higher.

Re: Another Eberspacher D2 question

The 10mm one on the right. (the larger of the two)
Ensure that you have a continuous rise from the pump to the heater otherwise you will have reduced heat output due to air bubbles trapped in joints/low points.

Re: Another Eberspacher D2 question
Thanks OG, wound the pump in a bit and finally got it all spot on, works a treat now.
Thanks once again.
