Hello all,
I've just found a strange ingress of water into the rear of my camper. She's a 1990 high-top AutoSleeper Tridant, and in the small, low lying cupboard beneath the high-top bed, which backs up onto the the top of the tailgate, I've been getting an accumulation of water. There's no water ingress into the bed/platform in the high top, but water is making its way into this small, horizontal storage space where I usually keep manuals, road maps, the spare (small) table that goes between the front seats and the tubular support for the tables.
So, if anyone else has experienced this before, and sorted out how to cure it, it would be most appreciated!
Sal

Hopefully I'm wrong but unfortunately it might be coming in from the roof. Have a read of this thread and especially the top link to the photos in 'flufflenarnia's' last post.

Oh my Gawd!! Those photos from flufflenarnia look terrible..... I don't have the werewithal to take off my high-top, but I'll definitely squeeze silicone sealant behind the hightop's rubber seals. Oh well.... We soldier on!

Re: An odd leak in an AutoSleeper Trident
well, like I said, hopefully I'm wrong. The only other possible causes I can think of (and I'm grasping at straws here) is if your rear wash pipe passes through there and it has a split in it or the tailgate seal has gone at the top and its running behind the lining into the cupboard. (We are on about the 'bump your head' cupboard over the double bed?)
Can you remove the 'floor' of the hightop bed with the high top still in place? At least you could have a look then. Whatever the cause I wouldn't ignore - it won't go away....

Yes, it's the 'bump your head cupboard'. I've thought of it being the seal around the rear wash pipe, but I'm not certain. I don't think it's the tailgate seal, since there's a clear channel that seems to take run off, and there's no apparent deterioration (but now that I'm saying that I ought to have another look!).
Taking away the high top floor/bed would be a big undertaking..., it looks like I'm going to have to put a lot of deep thought into this one - I can't ignore it.

Re: An odd leak in an AutoSleeper Trident
My high top bed floor is just a sheet of wood screwed down in several fiddly places. I can't remove it totally but once unscrewed I can slide it forward to open up the rear to the van roof. My van's an Autohomes though but to be honest yours should, if anything, be easier due to the way mine was constructed. PM 'flufflenarnia' - maybe they could advise you further.

Good point, I'll PM 'flufflenarnia'. I should have thought of that! Thanks.
