Fitting a Rev Counter - Easy to do?

Seeing as my Syncro never came with a rev counter And as the engine is so quiet, I keep thinking its stalled apart from the obvious red light if I do stall, even the wife keeps saying "Is the engine running?"

So this got me thinking, and looking into getting the OE Revcounter clocks, but oh boy are they expensive second hand.!

Looks like I will try an after market type jobby.

Any recommendations?

How easy are rev counters to fit? What would I connect it to?

Non-mechanical rev counters normally take an electrical signal off the ignition coil circuit.

Cheers, that sounds easy enough, then just the backlight feed then I guess too.

I've been looking out for a diesel rev counter for a while, going rate seems to be £70 odd quid. I'll still get one though
You might already know this, but if you have a diesel (can't remember what you have) you have to make sure your alternator has the W terminal on the back. That's what I got told anyway
