Hey peeps,
Our Sheldon hight top has some dodgy speakers in the back. The previous owner fitted some cheapo 6x9s up top and and a pair of Kenwood 12" subs under the bed.
We are looking to refurb the van and replace the audio units. We will fit some components in the doors, to make the front sound sweet and replace the 12s with a single 10".
We aren't sure what to do with the 6x9s. Should we replace them with 6.5 components too or keep to the original spec but upgrade to better 6x9s?
We aren't huge audiophiles, we just want nice clear sounds while we drive.
Cheers.

i have fli 6x9 in mine. the cable is a massive factor though. if you have tiny little cable driving 6x9s from a head unit then they will sound rubbish. you dont have to go mad and spend loads of money. just go to your local audio shop.

Re: Audio Speakers
Cheers guys.
The wires are pretty crap and the head unit is adequate (Sony Xplode unit that reads MP3s etc). Currently, the front speakers and the 6x9s are running off the head unit. The previous owner paid a lot of money to get this system installed but he was completely ripped off.
We have bought a new Alpine with 3 pre-outs, so we can fit another amp for the front and rear speakers, with decent cable. The subs are running on a separate amp already. The new single sub will be running decent wiring and amp too.
We are more concerned that the sound in the back will be too bass-heavy, or unbalanced if we replace the 6x9s with components. There are some Infinity 6x9s with directional tweeters in Halfords. We just aren't sure if they are good or not!
