are ignition modules all the same?

i seem to have mislaid the module from a complete CU 2 litre Aircooled ignition but i do have a few more from a CT 1600 Aircooled, DG 1900 wasserboxer and DJ 2.1.

apparently they are all the same according to here:

is this true? don't want to feck anything up..........

I'd be surprised if they were different as it's just a switching unit - like a very fast acting relay with no moving parts.

I've worked with electricity and electronics much of my adult life in one capacity or another - so I can confirm the the above is good advice

It's still bitten me a few times though.
