12v ceramic heater

Post by The Bishop »

Anyone tried these:

They seem a very cheap solution for winter camping. Are they a waste of money?

Yes. They put out about as much heat as a gnat farting.
Martin.

Diesel is an engine not a fuel.

I liked camping so much I went full time.

Having no heating of any shape or form use these as de-misters. Do the job, but don't exactly keep you toastie.

Even with small amount of heat they produce, you'll need engine running or it'll sap battery in no time. No, not a practical solution really.

I used to have 3 of these running off a separate battery in my splitty, they give out a tiny bit of heat, not enough to heat the van, but just about enough to demist the window..
I ended up running an extension chord out from the house with a fan heat in the van.. I'd flick it on for 15 mins before I wanted to go out.. 8)
