Cab door hinges

Post by Cruz »

I've got one worn hinge on my cab door so I ordered a hinge from VW as well as a new pin from somewhere else.

When I got the hinge it has the extra part that attatches to the cab door as well as the A-pillar. I assume originally that part of the hinge is welded to the door so I will need to disassemble it?

Depends Cruz. Only you can see which bit is worn. It may mean you have to grind hinge from door and weld on the new one.

I assume it's the part that fits to the a-pillar that is worn because that is the only part that swivels around the hinge pin. The other part is fixed.
