Gearbox oil leak.

Post by Bigroy0 »

Well managed to get home after getting my engine reconditioned at elite. (only a 900mile round trip :? )
pulled up in front of the house yesterday got in the house came back out a couple of hours to find fresh oil on the ground.
I know its not the engine and presuming that it is the gearbox its a 5 speed on a 2.1.
hope fully going to split it this weekend and have a look but i dont know what im really looking for.
Can someone give me a little hint or tips into what im looking for.
many thanks
Roy

I think it would be better to find it first... then ask here how to renew the seal

I think splitting the box is a tad drastic

Smell the leaking oil as gearbox oil stinks like cats p**s where as engine oil dosnt. If you had the engine reconditioned you may have a engine oil seal leak down to the rebuild. The engine warrenty should cover it only problem is getting it 450 miles to elite

No pedant there ... read it like it is.
I have learned to do that on here, reading between the lines is disastrous

Well done Billybigspud for getting it right
