Headlamps not very good

Post by relias »

Hello all. The headlamps on my 84 t25 dont seem very good, in the headlamps themselves in front of the bulb, there is a metal cap where the tip of the bulb ends inside the reflector, should this be there, or has someone in the past fitted the wrong headlamps? the beam pattern when i put a board in front was not the same as my MGC which has the same type of headlamps without the cap,so the question is do your headlamps have this cap. all earths and charging system all ok. :?:
there aint nothing wrong with havin a tatty wedge ,that needs a tidy wedge spent on it!!

Fit relays as per the guide in the wiki to get more volts to the bulbs

If the headlamps use p45t bulbs then the headlamps have the metal cap otherwise the beam will be wrong. Never seen an MG with p45t bulbs. Headlamps that are designed for H4 bulbs don't have the cap as the bulb has it already (the black bit on the end of the bulb).

There are upgrades like fitting the relays or/and fitting newer technology Philips extreme or Osram night breaker bulbs.
