Hi all

At the moment it looks like we have 4 deffinates and a possible. What I need to know is how many days guiding I need to book, if any? Please let me know ASAP.

Thanks

Rob

Rob,

Will you be booking the campsite based on numbers or do you require payment to confirm?

Hi Dave

I don't think we'll have to pre-book the campsite, especially now there's fewer of us.

Rob,

Can see the dilemma and need for an answer asap...

If we have a price for the full monty, divided by 4 or 5 ??

Then we should all vote for the Full Monty (think that was 4 days guiding)... or not... we all finally seem to to be listening (at this time) so now is the time for a decision.. this would be expensive per vehicle, but heck, so is getting there and back !

An option would be to say take say 3 days (and ask for the best 3 days worth of routes, highest, most difficult or best views).. and settle at that

to keep per unit costs within sensible bounds.

Keep the voting options to a minimum, the Full Monty (and we all stump up whatver it costs)

OR

3 days as compromise

===============

First someone post up the guide costs for a convoy of 4 vehicles divvied up... for the 2 options

Then we vote, asap

=====

NB. Some vehicles will (may) be carrying non-Syncro pax, so cost for them will be divvied up further (hopefully)

Hi All,

We like the idea of finding out how much the guiding will be between 4 or 5 of us and then doing a vote as per HarryMann above.

Guiding is 270 euros per day. 3 Days is 810 euros. Split between 5 vehicles that's 162 euros each. Split between 4 it's just over 202 euros.

Right, thanks for that Pete&Ali and Rob

those sort of (3-day) figures would be OK for us, I shall try to have Mark and a few more respond asap
Hopefully by Tuesday then we'll have a quorum to decide.

:ok

PS. Rob, have you been on any of these guided routes before to give a feel ?

An alternative (or additional) would be to acquire one of the (new) Galicia Road Books (like the Val d'Arran book we used) and drive those, very far to the West though. Jenny is trying to sort the digital version I believe

I spent two weeks mountain biking in the Picos when I first arrived in Spain. Although not overly technical the climbs were very challenging due to their length and the views were spectacular.

Is anyone who is offroading have any spare seats, as we would be interested in being passenger and contributing some cost to a day out.

That would be fine - you'd be very welcome! We will have two spare seats.

We also need to remember the routes we can do without guiding - presumeably the excellent pics Rob has put up on page 6 of this thread are of one of those?

If its like the Pyrenees, Val d'Arran etc , then anything over 3 metres wide should be a legal route (unless Picos is an exception)

But I think we should have some days guided, to get a feel for whats up there, if it doesn't pan out to be far too expensive. 3 days sounds about right unless anyone thinks differently?

MarkW should get back to us on his situation tonight sometime

Hi All

At the moment we have the following participants for the off-roading;

Essex Nige (need copies of driving licenses & Passports)
Syncropatrick (need copies of driving licenses)
PetenAli
Harryman
Mudlark (need copies of driving licenses & Passports)
Dave Friday (need copies of driving licenses & Passports)

I apologise if I've left anyone out.

I need all outstanding paperwork by Friday as I'm going to the Picos this weekend to meet with Europicos. I'm going to book their services for three days. This will mean paying a deposit which I'm happy to cover so please let me know if you have any objections.

Thanks
