Part Number please, Front Outer CV Joint

Post by syncro up »

Morning all.
In line with my previous Italian post, I seek the knowledge from those familiar with the VW part number catalogue.

Could you tell me the part number for a right front outer CV joint. please.
If it helps, its for a RHD 1987, front locker, 2.1

Many thanks in advance, Alastair

Alistair,

If you have no joy finding one in Italy I would find out from Simon how long it will take to get one shipped to you.

Pick the address of a place/campsite/garage in the location you will be in that time frame and get it shipped there for collection.

Once apon a time you could get things sent 'Poste Restante' which meant you got something sent to a post office in a town so you could collect it from there but have no idea if that facility exists anymore.

I think you will be lucky to find the part in Italy.

A Google search for Poste Restante reveals:

You just need the details of the post office.

For Italy the website provided by Coguaro has a post office search feature: use this link: PosteShop: http://www.posteshop.it/puntivendita2.asp

Find the post office and the post code.

Then send your package with the address as follows for the chosen town village.

Example for Bologna Centro:
BOLOGNA CENTRO piazza minghetti 1 BOLOGNA Bologna 40124 0512756749 0512756745
Post Restante / fermo Posta
Bologna Centro
Bologna 40124
Italy
Tip: in my experience it's better choosing a smaller town because the post office is usually much easier to find and they don't have multiple offices.

Good Luck

Thanks guys, we have seen the brickeies one already and Ive asked Simon How much to post to Sicily where I could pick it up. But hes still to get back to me.

I think the part number would have helped had we been able to get one from a local VW dealer or such like.

Cheers
Alastair

Bank holiday...
Webshop is set up for Italy, you should just be able to order on line.
DHL are the only people who will give us a pricelist to work to, I think it's a 3-5 day service, however we will use a intermediary if we can get a better service.
