Any good dyno tune places in Southampton / Salisbury area?

Big lumps of metals and spanners.

Any good dyno tune places in Southampton / Salisbury area?

Post by sjmtlewy »

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know a decent dyno tuning place in the South that could handle a 1.9dg (Pierburg)? Don't want to take the risk with an unknown place and end up with a bigger brick than when I started...

Cheers,
Tim

Burlen Fuel Systems, Salisbury, I used to carry out Calibration work for them a few years ago. Not sure if they are still there though.

Better take your wallet. Best of luck

There are a couple of Salisbury/fordingbridge members on here that are often recommending good garages I would suggest you search or wait for one of their replies.

There is Janspeed in salisbury, been there years, as far back as I can remember, to be in business as long as they have they must know what they are doing. They have a rolling road and suspect they may have info and equipment going back a few years to cover the VW range of engines and carbs..........the only thing that may cause a hiccup is a young mechanic / dynostic who has never seen points in a conventional distributor, or an engine older than they are..........hopefully they have a locker with a senior old school mechanic in so they can get them out, fag paper in one hand and screwdriver in the other, dust him off and get him / her to do their work.

Also a tuning place on Harnam trading estate, cant remember the name and one on wilton trading estate of the A30 (I think)

r.e.young spanner monkies.........My son in law has worked on old school engines, but the youngsters alongside him in the workshop have never worked on them, ok, it's only a few components that have drasticly changed but there is no substitute to working on the real thing
