VW Classic Parts from VW Heritage

Post by syncropatrick »

Anybody else get this email? Will it mean Syncro parts will be easier and cheaper to source from an English website? (Pipe dream!)

Yeah, I know they do Simon. I've had stuff from both. What I meant was will this mean no more hunting for parts availability on a foreign language website and waiting for price quotes to be emailed back? It would be nice if there was more of an interactive experience, where one can browse stock and prices without having to tie up the resources of Aidan, Simon etc, neither of which are in the business of carrying the entire stock line from VW Classic Parts, instead being specialised auto mechanical services. I'm not a business man and haven't thought through what this means for the business models of Aidan and Simon, but for the wider VW community this can only be a good thing right?

There is only one certainty here; the more hands a part has to pass through before it gets to you the more expensive it is going to be.

If Classic parts Germany enter into a 'sole distribution' agreement with heritage UK it translates to heritage being given carte blanche to charge what they like in the Uk with the certain knowledge you will not be able to get the same parts anywhere else.

Great. So if I wanted something you don't normally stock Simon and I dropped you an email would you order it from classic and ship it to me, or save it for me to collect (payments up front of course)?

PS. Did you ever get round to getting the early water pipes made in silicone. The 4 from/to the bleed valve? Or am I dreaming about that

Just remember that not all the parts that VW heritage sell are VW parts.

We do that for a lot of customers.

Yes, pipes will be made soon, they have quoted me and they are just making the tooling at the.moment.
Powerflex are also making me some more parts.
