Twin carb or single Carb?

Post by Ospreylian »

Hi,

Relatively new to bus scene & not mechanically adept at all. Have a 1981 2l AC Westphalia Campervan.
I've been advised that air is getting into my carbs via the throttle linkage and I need to get my carbs rebushed. I'm living in the picturesque a*** end of West Wales and I'm unable to find anyone local who can remove, rebush, refit and retune this side of the Severn Bridge. I'm not sure if the van would make it to Gasure in Chester so I'm looking to see if anyone has any alternatives....

One option I've been given is to change from twin solex carb to a single Empi carb with a twin choke (as quality parts are difficult to get for Solex) - What difference will this make?

Grateful for any sensible responses

Thanks

Ceri

Your 2 Litre Aircooled engine would love a set of Dellorto drla 38's.

you would not take the grin off your face for a very long time

as kev says. although they are 36s :)

either fit the dells or recon the solex http://www.gasure.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; do them.

do not under any circumstances fit the weber single kit. its shi.t it will strangle your motor.

dells make these vans fly and better on juice
