He he he.

Sorry I can't help you. I'm just picturing a portable mechanic. A little fella that folds up and fits in your pocket.

Anyone know a "mobile" mechanic in the Mahester area?
Martin.

Diesel is an engine not a fuel.

I liked camping so much I went full time.

I've tried charging the battery, its firing but not catching, spoke with a mechanic first thing who suggested a few things it could be connected to the fuel pump - pipes incorrectly attached (I dont think its that as I was watching when my other half attached it) wrong part, etc. The local mechanic thought he could fit us in but I've just spoken to them and now they dont think they can come, calling round mobile mechanics now.. booked or very expensive. The baby is doing one as he's teething and I'm just about to crack up I think.

Hi, what engine is it?

just read your other post, looks like 1.9 DG with the mechanical pump. What's the urgency do you have a ferry crossing to make or something?

Have you tried to see if there is a spark at the plugs?
Is there a smell of fuel in the cylinders when you remove a plug?

I had a problem with the push rod on the fuel pump, which foxed me for a while.

It siezed in the plastic flange (the engine had overheated and I guess the flange warped). The cam pushed it up but the spring in the pump wasn't strong enough to push it down again.

Easy to check, remove the fuel pump, remove the plastic flange and make sure the push rod moves up and down freely. If not you need a new flange, or as it's an emergency remove the push rod and try to clean it up so it moves freely, don't forget it needs to be greased when refitting.
